The difference between X and Y capacitors.

There is no essential difference between the function of X capacitor and Y capacitance. The difference lies in their connection. Can be divided into the following two points:

1. The difference is that the X capacitor is not grounded, and the Y capacitor must have a ground wire.

2. Most of the X capacitors are square box shape, and the Y capacitors are round plate porcelain interface.


More difference is that the X capacitance is connected to both ends of the input line to eliminate the difference mode interference, and the Y capacitor is connected between the input line and the ground wire to eliminate the common mode interference. Y capacitors are usually made of high voltage ceramic plates. The Y capacitance is connected between the phase and the ground. X2 is less than or equal to 2.5 kV; C. X3 high pressure resistance is less than or equal to 1.2 kV; Y capacitors are divided into Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4, and the main difference is that: Y1 is greater than 8 kV. B. High pressure resistance of Y2 is greater than 5 kV; C. Y3 high pressure n/a resistance; D. Y4 high pressure is greater than 2.5kv.
